Antonio Candreva has announced he will be staying at Inter Milan despite the interest shown in him by Chelsea.
It was reported this weekend that Chelsea had a bid rejected by the Italian side, which was in the region of £23 millon.
In an interview, Candreva was quoted:
‘I’m proud to wear this shirt, I’ve bought into an important project here and I’m happy to be here’
He continued to say, ‘This jersey has an important history, which is honoured every time I wear it.’
‘The links with Chelsea are nice, but there’s been absolutely nothing to date. The club will take care of any bids that may come in.’
Conte had worked with Candreva when he was in charge of the national side, and he impressed and was a key part of the side.
Chelsea have already made four additions this summer, bringing in Cabellero, Rudiger, Bakayoko and Morata. Chelsea’s spending hs already surpassed £100 million, and Conte is looking to add more.
It will be an interesting summer for the Blues, who will be looking to retain their Premier League title.
