Manchester City today announced the signing of Danilo from Real Madrid and he is expected to be joined by Monaco full back Benjamin Mendy at any moment.

Chelsea had been linked to both of these players but appear to have backed out of a ‘bid off’ with City.

So where now for The Blues in their hunt for full backs? These are two positions Manager Antonio Conte has claimed he needs to strengthen.

There are wide reports that Alex Sandro is still on the cards and could come into play in some sort of deal involving Nemanja Matic going the other way to Juventus, who are very keen on landing the midfielders services.

Sandro is still yet to sign a new deal with the Serie A Club, leaving the door very much open for a move to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Conte enjoys a robust and physical type player with pace and energy. This certainly describes England International Ryan Bertrand, who is also home grown. All reasons why Chelsea have been linked to a move for him these last few days.

His Club Southampton however are expected to refuse any approach for their full back who of course enjoyed a decent spell at Stamford Bridge previously.

Finally, Chelsea are expected to contact Arsenal on Monday regarding signing 23-year old midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who wants to leave his Club.

The England International is refusing to negotiate signing a new contract under Manager Arsene Wenger and Chelsea are keen on his versatility as they look to sign competition for Victor Moses.
