Chelsea are ready to make a bid for defender Virgil Van Dijk, if they are given the go ahead by Southampton.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has gone up a gear, in the hunt to land three more signings for manager Antonio Conte as they look to expand their squad, which is currently looking rather thin.
She has held meetings with several clubs, for the several players over the past week, with there only being just over a week until the summer transfer window closes.
Those meetings are reportedly for Danny Drinkwater, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ross Barkley and Southampton right-back Cedric Soares.
However, with Van Dijk, who handed in a transfer request earlier this month, much to the dismay of the club, the only way of Chelsea making a move, is if they are told they can.
Chelsea look the most likely to snap up the Dutch international, if he does make the move from the south coast side, after Liverpool have had a bust up with Southampton over the way they have handled this transfer saga.
