Game week 3 of the Premier League is upon us and with Chelsea sitting on 3 points following a 3-2 home defeat to Burnley and a 2-1 victory over Spurs at Wembley it has certainly been an interesting start; but how will the Blues fare against Everton this weekend? Our writers give their predictions…

Chris (@ChrisUTC97)

“There is guaranteed goals in this game, since both teams have quality going forward. Everton looked threatening as an attacking outfit away to City so fancy their chances to trouble Chelsea’s three man defence. The midfield battle will be crucial, especially with Schneiderlin missing. Bakayoko and Kante dominating the midfield should see Chelsea home, but not without a scare.”

Chelsea 3 – 1 Everton

“I’m confident. I don’t think we are capable of re-creating the stunning performance of last season which saw us hammer the Toffees 5-0, but I do expect us to put in a professional and comfortable performance. Everton did trouble Manchester City last week and managed to get a point but they were actually dominated by 10 men following the dismissal, with better finishing City would have won comfortably. Last season Chelsea were clinical in front of goal, I reckon we still can be and will show that this weekend. Everton look good but I imagine we’ll just have too much for them.”

Chelsea 2 – 0 Everton

Paree (@ACParee)

“I think Chelsea are going to win against Everton because I feel we can take momentum from beating Spurs last week. Pedro hopefully can start and can provide more substance in our attack. Everton did very well drawing to Man City on Monday, but I believe we will just come out victorious.”

Chelsea 3 – 1 Everton

Ed (@EdMdotMedia)

Everton are a good team this year. Rooney and Sigurdsson look strong and I just can’t entirely trust our defence at the minute, though we should be stronger in attack that previous games as the team start to gel and players such as Pedro return from injury. It could either be a very close, tight game or an absolute domination like last year, so I’m slightly on the fence with my prediction.”

Chelsea 2 – 2 Everton

Greg (@Kantesque)

“This is going to be a close one. Chelsea have improved since the shocking loss on the opening day and we looked great at times last weekend to snatch a fantastic result at Wembley. Everton can be a threat to the big teams this season, with solid defence under Koeman and good attackers on the break they could cause some serious upsets. Gylfi Sigurdsson is a class player and one of his set pieces could be the difference this week but I think our defence will hold firm and keep him quiet.”
