Chelsea’s negotiating finally looks like it is stepping up today as we hear two solid reports of fee’s agreed.
England Internationals Danny Drinkwater and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been targets wanted particularly by Antonio Conte throughout the summer, and he now finally looks close to landing two of his main targets.
Sky Sports have reported that Chelsea and Arsenal have agreed a fee for Oxlade-Chamberlain, thought to be around £35m. The versatile midfielder is on international duty with England, but Sky say he will complete his Chelsea medical at the England camp. Of course this deal is not yet done and anything can still happen. But for me, I believe this is a fantastic coup for the club.
Leicester have also agreed a fee with Chelsea for Drinkwater, said to be around £32m, according to high profile source SFR Sport. The two clubs were thought to be some way apart on the fee, but with add ons it seems both parties have reached an agreement.
With just 3 days left of the transfer window, Chelsea finally look set to be getting some of these long time transfer pursuits over the line with even more to potentially come.
Likely to still join are Fernando Llorente, Ross Barkley and an outside shot of Ryan Bertrand, from what I understand.
There are also still whispers about Riyad Mahrez, Cedric Soares, Andrea Belotti, Jamie Vardy and Renato Sanches. Anything can still happen.
