It’s been officially confirmed this morning by Sky Sports that Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request to leave the Club.
Last night it was reported on Sky’s live debate show, however, nothing was confirmed via Sky’s feed. But they are now breaking this news as I type.
Chelsea are in talks to sign the England International and were said to be very close to agreeing a fee with Leicester. The two were initially quite far apart on a fee, with Leicester wanting at least £40m, but Chelsea not wanting to go over £30m.
Various sources suggested a deal was reached at around £28m, but this would suggest that nothing is agreed on just yet.
Drinkwater now attempts to push the move through hoping his Club will meet somewhere in the middle with Chelsea.
