Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott was denied a deadline day move to Championship side Reading due to the Danny Drinkwater deal being held up, according to The Sun.

The London side spent all day trying to agree a few for Drinkwater, it left Scott wondering whether he was going to be able to make the move to try to gain regular football, and experience.

But the deal with Drinkwater went to the wire, as Leicester had to wait to finalise a replacement which meant they didn’t allow Drinkwater to move straight away.

This left Conte in two minds. He didn’t want to let the young midfielder go out just incase they didn’t land Drinkwater, so he will remain a Chelsea player until January.

Hard luck, Kyle!
