Danny Drinkwater who arrived at Chelsea from Leicester on the last day of the summer window, is hoping his partnership with N’Golo Kante can carry on in London.

Two seasons ago, Kante and Drinkwater were key players in their shock title triumph and it led to Kante making the switch to Chelsea, who had a disastrous season that year.

Now that Drinkwater has followed Kante to the capital, he spoke to the club’s website on the potential of lining up with one another in a Chelsea shirt.

“I played with N’Golo for a season and there was not really a game I didn’t enjoy playing next to him. I am looking forward hopefully to carrying on where we left off. I think we hit it off from the first game and after that we did not really lose. He is a top lad, the most down-to-earth person you will meet. I can’t see him changing much and I am looking forward to meeting him again.”

Chelsea are looking to retain the title this season, and with an already title-winning duo at Leicester, could the pair, drive Chelsea to their sixth Premier League triumph.

Only time will tell.
