Antonio Conte confirmed in the press conference today that Drinkwater has a calf injury and could miss for about 4 weeks.
The English international has yet to make his debut after his £35m deadline move. Drinkwater was fit when he arrived at Chelsea after he recovered from a injury he suffered at Leicester but then he got injured in the Chelsea training. The 27-year-old was bought to bolster the squad but now he will have to wait longer for his first appearance at his new club.
Antonio Conte said about Drinkwater: “He had a muscular problem in his calf. I think it’s very difficult to see him before the international break. He needs time to recover. It’s a pity because he was starting to work and to improve his physical condition. Now we have to move all these situations. And in two, three weeks, four weeks, I don’t know.”
