Roman Abramovich is on the hunt to sign CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin in January, with the Russian prepared to spend up to £15m on Golovin.
Chelsea have been short of options this season despite the recent arrival of Danny Drinkwater in the midfield and are looking to bolster their options.
According to The Sun, Abramovich wants the Moscow midfielder before the Russian World Cup next summer as the billionaire thinks his price tag will rise when the tournament is over.
The 21-year-old is expected to be one of Russia’s key men next summer, and with the 15 appearances for his country, he could be a sought after man.
Chelsea need several additions in January with their Premier League title defence all but over, so they will be looking to go far in the three competitions they are left in – the Champions League, FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
