Since arriving at Chelsea in 2012, Eden Hazard has developed into not only a fans favourite at Stamford Bridge, but the qualities in which he has, are now up there with the best in the world.
But as a result of his outstanding performances in recent years, it has had the elite clubs on alert, particularly Real Madrid.
But former Blues centre-back Marcel Desailly believes Chelsea would be able to cope without the Belgian as previous history has shown, following an interview with Goal.com: “We are still in the season, no player is more important than the club. Even when Drogba left, one of the great players, the spirit of the club continued. They continued to win.”
The Frenchman stated that several other players would be able to arrive at the Premier League champions, and produce the quality in which the 26-year-old currently does.
“We will be sad if Hazard has to go but I am sure that Roman Abramovich is still passionate about the club. He will bring in another player that can allow the club to be at the same level again.”
After equalling Gianfranco Zola’s goal record, Chelsea supporters will be hoping their star man sticks with Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
