Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been a present figure in the Blues defence this season, and is set to have talks over a contract extension.
The young Dane recently arrived back to London following a two-year spell in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach, and received the Player of the Year award in his final year with the club.
The 21-year-old has since become a regular in Antonio Conte’s side, breaking through due to the bust-up between Conte and team-mate David Luiz.
Now, according to the Standard, Christensen is going to be rewarded with a contract extension despite only signing a new contract back in 2015. Talks are set to begin after the new year.
He’s tipped for great things at Chelsea, and could follow in the footsteps of John Terry, who was a long-term servant for the Premier League champions.
This certainly proves the loan system which is often criticised, works.
