Thibaut Courtois has become one of Chelsea’s greatest assets, and now the club have reportedly reached advanced stages with the Belgian over a new contract to extend his stay here in England.
Journalist Kristof Terreur claims that the Blues are in advanced negotiations over a five-year-deal which pen Courtois down until 2024.
The Chelsea number one currently has 18 months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, but there has been heavy speculation over the Belgian’s future following the admittance of missing his children who currently live in Spain.
Courtois was quoted: “Everybody knows that due to my personal situation, Spain attracts me.”
He spent three years with Atletico Madrid on loan but it seems a deal is nearly complete with the 25-year-old. Time for Real Madrid to look for another target now.
