Barcelona have stepped up their interest in 21-year-old defender Andreas Christensen, according to The Mirror.
Christensen, 21, has shone for Chelsea since ousting David Luiz from the starting eleven following a three-nil defeat away to A.S. Roma on Halloween.
Christensen joined the Champions from Danish side, Brondby in 2012 on a free transfer, making his senior debut away at Shrewsbury in the League Cup in October 2014.
The Dane excelled during a two-season loan at Borussia Monchengladbach between 2015 and 2017, scoring seve goals in 82 appearances. He has returned to Chelsea and continued to perform on a consistent basis, racking up impressive passing statistics in the process.
Christensen has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract so will be an expensive acquisition should any club try to lure him away. That said, Chelsea remain keen to tie down the Dane for many seasons to come.
