Thibut Courtois has spoken about Chelsea fans following the Blues’ goalless draw to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea made a not-so glamorous club record as they drew their third consecutive game without scoring a goal in any of them.
Following disappointing performances in recent weeks, Chelsea supporters have started to lose their patience and many boos rang around Stamford Bridge at the final whistle.
The Belgian keeper spoke to reporters after the game and they addressed the issue to Courtois, in which he responded: “It doesn’t help when the fans boo and whistle after each misplaced pass.
“We didn’t play well but that’s when we need the fans behind us.”
Courtois secured his 12th clean sheet of the Premier League season, levelling David De Gea’s tally and was a key reason in Chelsea drawing the game on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea could be only one point ahead of fifth come the end of the weekend, which is worrying considering the position they were in coming into the new year.
