Chelsea are interested in Barcelona’s outcast Dennis Suarez, who has been an outcast at the Spanish club in recent times, according to Ian McGarry, a former journalist.
The West London side are happy to let Michy Batshuayi depart on loan, however only if they can find a replacement for the out of favour Belgian. Sevilla are reportedly interested in the forward.
Batshuayi is looking to leave the club in January as he has his sights set on a place in the Belgium World Cup squad for the tournament in Russia this summer.
Ian McGarry said on The Transfer Window Podcast: “What they haven’t found in a natural goalscoring striker and instead have turned their attention to a Barcelona player who is available for transfer – Denis Suarez.
“He’s a player they (Barcelona) let go with a buy-back clause and because he was playing so well in La Liga they did buy him back.”
He made an instant impression at the Catalan giants but has since fallen out of favour and is available for a move away from the club.
“He’s very much in the mould of Barcelona current attacking midfielders such as Willian, Pedro and Eden Hazard – not an out-and-out striker but certainly someone who can get goals.”
