“The only team” – Incredible Chelsea statistic which Man City, Man Utd & the rest of the Premier League haven’t achieved this season

It’s been a poor season by Chelsea’s standards as they linger in the bottom half of the Premier League, but their defensive record has been one of the positives this term.

Chelsea are currently in 11th place in the Premier League with three games left to play against Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Caretaker boss Frank Lampard’s side are set to finish in the bottom half unless they manage to win all three games and Fulham only pick up one point from their final two matches, also hoping that there is a large goal difference swing. That’s rather unlikely.

Their ruthlessness in both boxes has been their own downfall this season. Chelsea have the fourth best defensive record in the league having conceded just 41 goals – joint with Man United – but their attacking statistics don’t make for good viewing.

Chelsea have only scored 36 goals this season from their 35 games, averaging just over a goal a game, which makes them have the joint-fourth worst goals scored record.

However, one statistic which Chelsea have achieved this term, so far, that no other team has is conceding a penalty.

Chelsea have had some close penalty calls this season and will be hoping the statistic stays intact once they have played their final three games of the season.

Man City can retain their Premier League crown with a win over Chelsea on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium. They have also won the most number of penalties this season (10) which could bring an end to the Blues’ perfect record.

Erling Haaland will be hoping to add another goal to his tally at the weekend. He is approaching the 40 league goals mark. The 22-year-old has scored the same number of goals (36) as Chelsea this season.
