Despite currently retaining the support from the Chelsea hierarchy, head coach Graham Potter is under increasing pressure over his future at the club.

The next two games against Leeds United and Dortmund have been claimed to reportedly be potential ‘make or break’ fixtures for the 47-year-old.

Potter’s side have lost their last three matches in all competitions and remain winless in six.

They return to Stamford Bridge this weekend to face Leeds United in the Premier League in what is said to be the first of two huge games for the Englishman.

It’s been reported by the Daily Mail that Potter is facing a fight to convince certain figures at the club that he has the authority to turn around the dismal form which has seen them win just two games in the last 17.

Co-owner Todd Boehly is still very supportive of Potter and wants to give him more time as they believe he can succeed after being appointed back in September on a five-year contract.

Potter has accepted that results have just not been good enough in recent months however, he is firmly focused on his job at hand which is to get a result against Leeds United.

“There’s no other way,” said Potter, “we have to keep working, stick together, fight, and believe we can turn it around and the win is around the corner.”

Many managers have already been linked with the job at Stamford Bridge should Potter be sacked.

Former Spain and Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique has been one of the names linked to replace Potter if he were to depart.

However, insiders, as reported by the Daily Mail, have suggested that there is currently no interest in the 52-year-old.

It has been previously claimed by Fabrizio Romano that Enrique wants to return to management as soon as possible after leaving the Spain national team job following the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Saturday could prove to be a decisive day in regards to his position at Chelsea, whether or not Chelsea have a plan in place should they relieve him of his duties, remains unclear because of the current position of still supporting him.

But should Chelsea lose against Leeds United who are currently 17th in the Premier League, they may be left with no choice but to make a change before the crucial Champions League round of 16 second leg against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
