Chelsea’s injury problems are reducing by the day and Graham potter has received another boost with Christian Pulisic nearing a return.

The 24-year-old has been out of action since the start of January when he was forced off in the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge with a knee injury.

Pulisic was ruled out for around two months and he has been working his way back to being able to rejoin his teammates at Cobham on the grass on Wednesday to step up his road to recovery.

He was spotted in training with Mason Mount and replied on his Instagram with: “Back outside boyz.”

However, Pulisic only took part in a portion of the session, as revealed by Nizaar Kinsella, after Chelsea returned to their Cobham training ground on Tuesday following Sunday and Monday after their 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

When could Christian Pulisic return to action?

As per the report, Chelsea are hoping Pulisic will continue his work behind the scenes on his recovery and potentially work towards an appearance against Leeds United, when newly-appointed Javi Gracia’s side visit the capital next weekend.

Pulisic is only the only player who is nearing a return. Midfielder N’Golo Kante, who is also in contract extension talks, has returned to the grass with a return next month also hoped after a hamstring injury has seen him absent since August.

Under-pressure Potter has been given a welcome boost ahead of their London derby against fierce rivals Spurs this weekend.

After being told to not start quartet Reece James, Thiago Silva, Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling to avoid risk of significant injury, the 47-year-old has been informed they will all be available to be selected from the beginning for the London derby.
