Chelsea face Real Madrid in the Champions League and the confirmed team news is in from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Frank Lampard‘s side head to Spain for the first leg of their quarter-final tie against Real, who are the current Champions League holders.

The two faced off on April 12 last year, with Real Madrid sealing progression into the semi-finals after extra-time.

Lampard opened up his caretaker reign with a 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday and will be hoping to bounce back with a huge result at the Bernabeu to take back to Stamford Bridge next week for the second leg.

The Chelsea interim boss has told his side to step up and perform in pressure moments, saying pre-match: “There’s pressure on both teams because the size of both clubs. Are Real Madrid favourites? Yes. I understand why. That’s not a problem, that’s fine. There’s nothing better than proving people wrong.

He added: “If you can’t handle the pressure you’re not a big club or a big player. That’s part of the pressure.”

Lampard comes up against former Chelsea boss Ancelotti who acknowledges the Blues’ qualities and isn’t taking the two-time winners for granted. He said: “We suffered a lot vs Chelsea last season. We have to respect them. They have good players and will surely be motivated.”
