Chelsea are set to lose out on Palmeiras teenager Endrick as Real Madrid close in on an agreement, according to reports.

The 16-year-old is being courted by the best clubs in Europe, with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid all showing interest in the young Brazilian.

He is unable to move until 2024 when he is allowed to make a transfer from Palmeiras, but that hasn’t stopped clubs making early moves to try to secure the forward over a year early. Endrick has a release clause of around €60 million.

Chelsea made their move last month after welcoming Endrick and his family to their Cobham training base, per The Times, trying to convince him that a move to Stamford Bridge would be the best option for him. On his visit, he also met fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva.

However, it appears Real Madrid have beaten Chelsea to the signing of the highly-rated youngster, according to the latest information from Fabrizio Romano.

PSG withdrew their offer and interest after having a €58 million bid rejected by Palmeiras following discussions with the player over personal terms.

Real Madrid have now taken control of the race and are ‘closing in’ after negotiations advanced to the final stages on both transfer fee and personal terms.

Real are set to pay around €72 million in total for Endrick, including taxes, and the Spanish club are hoping to strike a deal as soon as possible. Reports in Brazil suggest Real are hoping it is signed by the New Year.

This will come as a blow to Chelsea who have put in work to try to land the teenager.

Co-owner Todd Boehly and Co have made it their mission to bring the best young talent to west London, but that won’t be in the form of Endrick. They will now need to look at the next best option.
