Things have gone from bad to worse for Chelsea as Graham Potter has delivered an injury update on Christian Pulisic, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after their defeat to Manchester City.

The Blues were embarrassed by Pep Guardiola’s City, who were dominant throughout and came out 4-0 victors.

Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring with a fantastic free-kick before Kai Havertz gave away a penalty with a handball in his own box.

World Cup winner Julian Alvarez converted from the spot, despite Kepa Arrizabalaga getting a hand to the strike.

It was 3-0 before half-time at Phil Foden converted from close range before Potter made several changes for the second half.

Despite this, Chelsea could not mount a comeback and Mahrez added his second from the spot with five minutes remaining after a foul from Kalidou Koulibaly.

Chelsea fans, who were in fine voice paying tribute to the late Gianluca Vialli, soon turned on the team with chants for former owner Roman Abramovich and head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Potter has seen the pressure increased on him with a torrid run of form for the Blues, and he has now revealed that the club have growing injury concerns.

Speaking to the press after the match, as quoted by football.london, Potter provided an injury update on the trio, who were substituted against Man City on Thursday.

He said: “Christian opened up his knee in the game the other day, we’re still analysing it but it’s going to be weeks for him.

“Raheem had an action in the first minute of the game and we’re still analysing that. No timescale yet.

“Auba felt pain in his back ahead of this one.”

The trio join Chelsea’s huge injury list with the likes of Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante and Armando Broja on the sidelines.

Potter must now play for the short-term without the trio as he looks to stedy the ship at Chelsea.

Up next for the Blues is Fulham in Premier League action, with the pressure mounting on Potter and his side.
