Graham Potter is coming under increasing pressure after Chelsea suffered another defeat in the Premier League.

Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by bottom placed Southampton thanks to a James Ward-Prowse free-kick on the stroke of half time at Stamford Bridge.

The defeat inflicted back-to-back defeats on Chelsea in all competitions, making it two wins from 17 in all competitions.

When referee David Coote blew the full time whistle in the capital on Saturday afternoon, Potter and the team were met by a chorus of boos from all four stands by the Stamford Bridge faithful, a sign that the atmosphere could be about to turn if it hasn’t already.

“After a 1-0 defeat at home, any criticism you get is understandable,” responded Potter following the home crowd’s boos.

Despite the mounting pressure, the Chelsea board are still reportedly backing their manager who they appointed on a long-term deal last September to lead the project.

However, it hasn’t stopped speculation soaring and, as per OddsChanger, Potter is now favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job.

  • Graham Potter – 1/1
  • David Moyes – 8/1
  • Gary O’Neil – 8/1
  • Antonio Conte – 9/1

Should Potter be replaced, which as things stand is very unlikely due to the club’s repeated and strong backing of the 47-year-old, who could replace the Englishman?

Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane and Pep Guardiola are among those who have been linked with the job, as per the latest market from PaddyPower.

  • Mauricio Pochettino – 6/5
  • Zinedine Zidane – 6/1
  • Pep Guardiola – 15/2
  • Brendan Rodgers – 9/1
  • Diego Simeone – 12/1
  • Thomas Tuchel – 14/1
  • Jose Mourinho – 16/1
