Graham Potter has confirmed the Chelsea team news to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Chelsea host the Bundesliga outfit at Stamford Bridge for the second leg clash in the Round of 16.

Dortmund travel to the English capital with a slender lead after Karim Adeyemi’s only goal at the Signal Iduna Park proved to be the difference in the first leg last month.

Despite Dortmund’s narrow advantage, head coach Graham Potter is confident his Chelsea side can overturn the deficit to progress into the quarter-finals.

“It’s a big game, exciting game,” said Potter on Monday. “Special night at Stamford Bridge, we’re really looking forward to it. Our thoughts are positive, trying to win the game.

They’re a top opponent. They are in a fantastic vein of form. Winning games constantly.”

But Potter will have to do it without Edouard Mendy (fractured finger), Thiago Silva (knee), Cesar Azpilicueta (head) and Armando Broja (ACL). Mason Mount is also suspended for the Champions League tie.

Reece James will be assessed on Tuesday after a tight hamstring made him miss out against Leeds. N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic were involved in Monday’s training session at Cobham, but only Pulisic will be available of the duo.

Potter said: “Reece we will make a decision on tomorrow.

“Christian is in the squad, he’s training well and looking good. N’Golo it’s too soon for him, but he’s looking good.”

On Kante, the Chelsea head coach added: “It’s a complex one because he’s had a long time out. It’s how you get him back to speed to play Champions League and Premier League football.

“He won’t be able to go straight in for 90 minutes any time soon, but the fact he is with us is exciting.”
