Chelsea have received four huge fitness boosts for their Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

Graham Potter’s side need a win, especially against their fierce London rivals, after a run of just two wins in their last 17 in all competitions which has seen Chelsea last win away from home back in October.

Injuries have played some part in Chelsea struggles this season but Potter is starting to welcome back many of the injured stars. N’Golo Kante was spotted in training in the warm-up session on Tuesday, and his return is hoped next month when they face Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund, Leicester City and Everton.

Potter rested Thiago Silva and Reece James in the 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Southampton last weekend, while Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk weren’t selected to start the game.

The Chelsea head coach confirmed they had no injuries for the game, revealing: “No injuries. More just the turnaround and demand of the games considering a few of them had injuries previously. With Reece, two 90s in a row, which is more than we expected at the start of the week. It was a case of managing the load and managing the squad.”

It was reported by Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph that the quartet ‘risked significant injury’ if they started versus Southampton. Potter took the advice of the medical team.

All four have been in training this week already ahead of travelling to north London to face Spurs, and Nizaar Kinsella has revealed the quadruple boost for Chelsea.

He claims Potter is ‘ready to hand starts to the four returning stars’ after the ‘all-clear’ was given by the medical department.

The return of Cesar Azpilicueta remains unclear after he was discharged from hospital following a head injury against Southampton. He returned to Cobham this week and is under the supervision of the medical team who are assessing the Spaniard as he looks to make a full recovery.

Chelsea need a win this weekend and by having their best stars available, it will hopefully offer the west London outfit a boost as Potter looks to relieve the pressure on him.

Co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have offered their continued backing of the head coach, with technical director Christopher Vivell leading an emergency strategic meeting at Cobham on Tuesday to address the poor form and how they can overcome their problems.
