The officials have been confirmed for Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Frank Lampard‘s side’s dismal campaign comes to an end this weekend as they host Newcastle, who have already secured Champions League qualification for next season.

It’s been a difficult return for Lampard as caretaker, overseeing eight defeats from 10 matches in all competitions, winning just one and drawing the other.

Chelsea will finish in the bottom half of the Premier League regardless of Sunday’s result, however Lampard will be keen to mark his Stamford Bridge farewell with a positive performance and result.

“I didn’t get the chance to do a proper goodbye at the end of my previous time here because it happened during the period behind closed doors due to Covid,” Lampard told the official Chelsea programme. “I know the supporters will have long memories, particularly the Stamford Bridge crowd, the match-going fan.

“The link we had over my 13 years as a player here was special, and although I left without getting the chance to say goodbye that time around, I think I probably addressed that by coming back as manager. My feeling for this club and the supporters has never and will never change.”
