Kai Havertz has sent a message of reassurance to Chelsea fans following their win over Crystal Palace.

The Blues have been on poor form in recent months, with the vital win against London rivals Palace providing a much needed three points for Graham Potter’s side.

Havertz scored a sublime header after a wonderful Hakim Ziyech cross and the Blues held firm to snatch the three points.

With the team under pressure in recent weeks, Potter was criticised publicly by many for the run of results that saw Chelsea register just one win in nine matches.

However, Havertz has now provided a message of support for his teammates and the head coach, discussing the importance of the victory on Sunday.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, the German opened up on what a win means for the team as he reassured Blues fans.

He said: “That’s a huge win for us, definitely.

“The last few weeks have been tough for us. We knew that it wouldn’t be easy today, we knew we’d have to work hard for the three points, but we said before the game that this could be a match that turns things around for us.”

Chelsea will be hoping the victory is just that, the turning point in their season as they currently sit 10th in the Premier League table.

Having been knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup by Manchester City, the Blues know that their chances of silverware this season are slim.

However, a round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund awaits as they also look to recover their domestic form and compete for a place in the top four.

Havertz could be key in the run-in, netting his fifth Premier League goal of the season against Patrick Vieira’s Palace side.

With the January transfer window still open it remains to be seen as to whether further reinforcements will be added in attack for the Blues following the signings of Mykhailo Mudryk, David Datro Fofana and Joao Felix already.

Marcus Thuram has been linked with a potential switch to Stamford Bridge while Noni Madueke is believed to be a transfer target for the winter window.
