Chelsea duo shortlisted for Goal of the Month award after Premier League strikes vs Leicester City
Chelsea have had two players nominated for March’s Premier League Goal of the Month award.
Eight strikes were shortlisted for March’s award; Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic both saw their goals against Leicester City earlier this month earn a nomination following the 3-1 win at the King Power Stadium, which also saw Chelsea go unbeaten in all competitions (W3, D1) in March.
Ben Chilwell‘s opener was the only goal that wasn’t nominated despite the sweetly struck volley from the right-hand side of the box in the first half. Patson Daka’s leveller against Chelsea from distance earned a nomination for the Foxes.
Havertz‘s goal on the stroke of half-time after Enzo Fernandez beautiful and delicate lofted ball for the German to dink Danny Ward earned the first Chelsea nomination in March.
Kovacic the added Chelsea’s third in the Midlands to secure the three points to win their third consecutive game to build some momentum.
Havertz crossed to Mykhailo Mudryk, who headed it across for the Croatian to volley into the back of the net.
