Chelsea are on the verge of completing a blockbuster deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk this month, according to reports.

The 22-year-old has been Arsenal’s top target this transfer window but despite many talks with the Ukrainian side, they have failed to agree on a transfer fee even though three offers have been submitted.

It has allowed Chelsea to swoop in and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali and director of global football and transfers flew to Turkey to meet with Shakhtar on Saturday to try to close a deal for the attacker.

Chelsea, who are wanting up to three more signings this month, quickly advanced a deal and have now agreed a deal to sign Mudryk, leaving Arsenal needing to increase their offer or face missing out.

All of the details of Mudryk’s move to Chelsea which looks to be nearing have now been revealed following the fast agreement between the clubs.

Transfer fee

According to multiple reports, including Matt Law, an initial fee of £62 million has been agreed, with an additional £26 million in potential add-ons.

Contract length

The Athletic report as seven-year-plus contract is waiting for Mudryk should he put pen to paper at Chelsea this month.

When will Mykhailo Mudryk fly to London to undergo his Chelsea medical?

Multiple reports suggested Mudryk would fly to London on Saturday from Shakhtar’s training base and arrive in the UK on Saturday night, which would see him finalise terms with Chelsea and undergo a medical ahead of completing his deal. Now Fabrizio Romano has confirmed has boarded a plane to the UK and will undergo his medical on Sunday.

David Ornstein insists a deal is not signed yet, but the move is a done deal.

What is Mykhailo Mudryk’s stance on moving to Chelsea over Arsenal?

As reported by The Athletic, Mudryk was ‘made aware by Shakhtar directly in the past few days’ of Graham Potter side’s ‘growing interest’. The feeling was that both club and player were open to reaching an agreement to make a deal happen.

It is now down to Arsenal whether they increase their bid, which is unlikely, and whether Mudryk holds out for a move to the Premier League leaders which he has hinted over recent weeks on social media.

For now, Mudryk is Chelsea-bound unless Arsenal make a late move to increase their offer to convince Shakhtar to sell to them.
