Raheem Sterling has no intention of leaving Chelsea this summer despite interest from Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

The 28-year-old only completed a £47.5 million transfer to Chelsea on a five-year contract from Manchester City last summer.

Sterling picked up an injury at the beginning of January against former side and has only just returned, starting in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur following a half-time appearance against Southampton.

Chelsea have struggled this season, under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, meaning it’s not been the ideal debut campaign in the capital for Sterling.

Premier League leaders Arsenal are reportedly looking to bolster their squad this summer with European experience ahead of their all but sealed 2023/24 Champions League campaign.

Mikel Arteta, who worked with Sterling during their time at Man City together, is a big admirer of the England international, and Arsenal were suggested to be open to making a move if the winger became available.

But Sterling has no intention of leave and is ‘committed to his long-term future’ at Chelsea, as reported by one of his representatives Kelly Hogarth.

She wrote on social media: “Sterling has expressed NO discontent with CFC & having committed his long-term future to the new ownership this summer, there is to be no review of his position in the upcoming transfer window.

“He very much looks forward to building upon the success of previous seasons.”

It is likely to be a busy summer for Chelsea once again in the transfer market. A whole load of outgoings are expected in order to trim the bloated squad, which is reportedly affecting how Potter sets up his training sessions at Cobham.

The wide positions are one of key focus for Chelsea. Sterling has only just arrived, as have Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke. Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech’s futures are uncertain, while Callum Hudson-Odoi will return once his loan deal at Bayer Leverkusen concludes.
