Thiago Silva has reacted to Mason Mount’s expected Chelsea departure to Manchester United this summer.

Mount, 24, has reportedly reached an agreement over personal terms to make the switch to Old Trafford, according to several reports, following the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign.

Chelsea have been unable to strike a deal to  extend his contract in the capital, and in line with their new policy of not allowing players to enter the final year of their contracts, Mount is increasingly likely to depart in the coming weeks.

Talks were out on hold until the end of the season with Chelsea, but there have been no advancements and Man United have won the race to sign Mount should he leave amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

All that is left to do to is for United to agree a fee with Chelsea, who value the midfielder at around £85 million. Erik ten Hag’s side value him at £30 million less, but, as reported by Sami Mokbel, there is a willingness to negotiate from both sides.

Once Man United have played their FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley, they will push on with their pursuit of Mount to try to wrap a deal up swiftly.

Despite newly-appointed head coach Mauricio Pochettino wanting Mount to stay, it looks like his future is all but settled.

Mount’s current teammate, Thiago Silva is one player who will be staying at the club under Pochettino after penning a one-year contract extension in February.

The 38-year-old, who turns 39 in September, has reacted to the news of Mount’s likely departure after he replied to news of the England international agreeing personal terms.

Silva replied to an Instagram with two crying emojis.

Chelsea’s summer clear-out is well underway ahead of the transfer window opening on June 14.

Joao Felix and Denis Zakaria will depart when their loan deals expire, while Mateo Kovacic has been granted permission to speak with Manchester City over a summer transfer.
