Aston Villa vs Chelsea: Preview, team news, how to watch, kick-off time & prediction

Chelsea face Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round replay at Villa Park on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are under pressure to bounce back from their dismal 4-2 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.

They were met with boos at the full-time whistle at Stamford Bridge, with calls getting louder for the Argentine to be dismissed. However, Pochettino retains the backing of the Chelsea hierarchy for now.

Chelsea head to the Midlands after a goalless draw in west London last month against Unai Emery’s side, with the winner of Wednesday’s tie heading into the fifth round and one step closer to Wembley.

“It’s true we played well in the first game at Stamford Bridge,” said Pochettino. “It was a game after the first-half that it felt nearly done. The circumstances we arrive in now are completely different. We cannot affect the past, only we can affect the future.

“We were talking today (Tuesday) with the players that they need to be ready for tomorrow (Wednesday).

“We are going to pay attention of course of what happened in the last few games. And for us, we need to assess our players and tomorrow I am going to decide the team because I think it’s important to assess how they are recovering and maybe do some changes for tomorrow.”

Pochettino has hinted changes could be made on Wednesday night, although Levi Colwill remains sidelined due to injury.
