Thiago Silva’s wife, Belle Silva, caused a social media storm during Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.

Prior to the full-time whistle at Stamford Bridge, Belle called for change amid criticism from Chelsea supporters over Mauricio Pochettino‘s position at the club.

She tweeted: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”

It remains unclear what Belle was referring to regarding ‘it’s time to change’, whether it was regarding the managerial position at Chelsea or specifically to do with the Wolves match and in-game substitutions.

Thiago netted a late consolation goal four minutes from time as Chelsea fell to 11th place in the Premier League.

Pochettino’s position at Chelsea remains safe and the 51-year-old retains the backing from the hierarchy.

Ahead of their FA Cup fourth round replay against Aston Villa on Wednesday night, the Chelsea head coach revealed the Brazilian approached him for a chat over his wife’s social media activity.

“He came today to talk with me,” Pochettino told reporters on Tuesday.

He added: “I’m not going to talk in the way we were talking. I think the important thing is he came and wanted to talk with me. And of course, he know me after more than 10 years, who I am, we are a very strong coaching staff and the way we operate. Of course he came to talk and we talked and I think that was private. And that’s it. It’s a private thing to keep inside.”

On his relationship with Silva, Pochettino continued: “Well, you can ask (him). I think good. I think very good. Yes, I think it’s always been good.

“From the beginning, you can see my press conferences and interviews, in the way I am always talking about him.”

Meanwhile, Pochettino is coming under increasing pressure from the Chelsea supporters over his job security.

He revealed the Chelsea owners still trust him and hasn’t had any indication that their stance has changed following his summer appointment.

Pochettino said: “I didn’t hear nothing (to say they don’t). I received a very good text from them. We are all together in this. And that is the most important thing but of course they are in contact with me and the sporting directors every day.”
