Aston Villa vs Chelsea: Confirmed team news for FA Cup fourth-round replay

Chelsea face Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth-round on Wednesday night and the confirmed team news is in from Villa Park.

An under-pressure Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to book a fifth round spot and face Leeds United in the last-16.

The initial ended in a goalless stalemate at Stamford Bridge last month and now Pochettino and Unai Emery’s side will battle it out for FA Cup progression.

Chelsea suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Wolves on Sunday and will be backed by a travelling contingent of around 6,300 at Villa Park.

Frustrating is becoming more audible and Pochettino, who is aware of the increasing scrutiny, has called for his squad to have time.

“We always need time and we are building from zero,” Pochettino said ahead of the FA Cup tie.

“Sometimes it looks like you move forward, but sometimes you need to go back because some problems appear.

“You should think it is going to be good, but after it, it is maybe better to go for (something else). It always takes time. Look at the project of Manchester City or Liverpool.

“It’s always about time. It’s about time and about a very clear leadership like Pep or Jurgen. It’s so clear from there you build all these projects.”

The FA Cup replay will get underway at 8pm (UK time) and will be available to watch live on ITV1 for viewers in the United Kingdom.
