Chelsea & Aston Villa’s FA Cup fifth round opponent confirmed ahead of Villa Park replay

The winners of the FA Cup fourth round tie between Chelsea and Aston Villa will face – in the fifth round.

Mauricio Pochettino and Unai Emery will go head-to-head at Villa Park next month after a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Friday night ensured the fourth round tie headed to a replay at Villa Park.

Chelsea were unable to convert any of their chances in the capital, with both goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Emi Martinez ensuring their respective sides were in the hat for the fifth round.

After a slight delay following crowd disorder in the Black Country derby between West Brom and Wolves, Chelsea’s fate was sealed – they will play Leeds United or Plymouth Argyle at Stamford Bridge should they progress past Aston Villa.

Ties are scheduled to be played during the week commencing Monday 26th February 2024.
