First pictures of Chelsea stars jetting off to USA for pre-season tour
Chelsea have flown to the USA for the start of their pre-season tour ahead of five fixtures in preparation for the 2023/24 season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will play Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund during their tour of America.
The Blues travelled on Monday afternoon for the flight across the Atlantic Ocean, with the usual suspects pictured on board the aeroplane.
Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill will meet the squad out in the US, while Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang haven’t travelled as they look to finalise transfers away from the club.
Pochettino, who officially started his head coach duties on July 1, is confident Chelsea can return to their successful ways if everyone works together.
“If we are all together, we are going to be very strong. We have an unbelievable squad and for sure are going to bring players with commitment who want to be part of it also. With the fans and everyone, we can find again the way to be successful.”
As Chelsea departed England for America, here are some photos of the players getting comfortable as they embark on the long-haul flight.
