Chelsea face Fulham in the west London derby on Monday night at Craven Cottage in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side make the trip of around two miles down the road to face their London neighbours and head into the fixture off the back of a 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup.

Nicolas Jackson, who is suspended for the Blues against Fulham, scored the only goal of the cup tie to set up a fourth round clash against Blackburn Rovers. Malo Gusto is also suspended following his red card in the defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

Chelsea will also be without Ben Chilwell (hamstring) and Reece James, but Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke could both return for the Blues. Armando Broja will be hoping for some minutes after making his long-awaited return from an ACL injury.

“I think it is bad news,” Pochettino said of Chilwell’s injury on Friday afternoon. “The doctor told me it’s not a good thing. It’s a bad injury but we need to assess in the next few days and we’ll see the period he is going to be out of the squad and the team. But I think it doesn’t look good, the injury. It was in the last minute of the game. Yes, we are really sad about the news of Ben.”

He added: “Time? It’s difficult to know now. It was only two days ago since it happened. We need to assess him and for sure, the club will communicate.”

On team availability, Pochettino continued: “Hope that maybe Carney and of course Noni, also, after his injury when he came back from the national team. He is getting ready, working hard. Yes, hope these two players maybe will be available for selection on Monday.”
