Newcastle United vs Chelsea: Confirmed team news for Premier League Summer Series pre-season clash

Chelsea face Newcastle United in the third game of their 2023 pre-season tour of the United States and the team news is in from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

It’s been a winning start for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side in America. Two wins from two, scoring nine goals in total, against Wrexham and Brighton & Hove Albion have got the Blues off to a positive start in pre-season.

Now they come up against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, who qualified for the 2023/24 Champions League, in the second of three games in the Premier League summer series.

“I think Chelsea will be very strong this year,” Howe said ahead of the game.

“They’ve got a top manager and top players. They’ve gone very young in the transfer market but those players will improve.”

The friendly will get underway at 1.15am BST time, 8.15pm local time, and will be available to watch live on Sky Sports and Peacock.
