Inter Milan eye triple raid of Chelsea this summer after collapsed Andre Onana talks

Inter Milan are interested in signing three Chelsea players this summer, according to reports.

The clubs have been in talks in recent months over goalkeeper Andre Onana, but Chelsea ended their interest in the 27-year-old and turned their attention elsewhere, with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to retain his number spot under Mauricio Pochettino next season.

Chelsea‘s priority this summer is to offload players to trim the bloated squad, which added to the list of challenges the Blues faced last season, and Inter are prepared to sign three of their squad members.

They are interested in Trevoh Chalobah, Cesar Azpilicueta and Romelu Lukaku, according to widespread reports.

Trevoh Chalobah

As reported by Bobby Vincent of Football.London, Chelsea and Inter Milan are currently negotiating over the 23-year-old.

A loan with an obligation to buy is currently being discussed, however Chelsea want to include a buy-back clause in the deal which is proving to be a stumbling block.

Talks remain ongoing. Chalobah only recently signed a new contract until June 2028, with the club having the option of extending his deal by a further year.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Inter Milan have expressed interest in Chelsea’s club captain, as reported by Sky in Italy.

The 33-year-old looked destined to depart for Barcelona last summer, but it appears his time at Stamford Bridge could now be coming to an end one year later.

Fabrizio Romano reports Azpilicueta wants to try a new experience and discussions are now ongoing with Chelsea over his departure.

Inter Milan look set to sign the defender, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming Azpilicueta has already told Inter he will make the switch to Italy.

Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan want to re-sign Lukaku on loan for another season. Chelsea are reluctant to sanction another loan spell and would prefer to offload the forward on a permanent basis.

The Nerazzurri are unable to afford the Belgium international, who has made it clear his preference is to return to the San Siro. AC Milan have also been linked but no talks have taken place, his lawyer has confirmed, while Lukaku has turned down a chance to move to Saudi side Al-Hilal.

Sebastien Ledure told Fabrizio Romano: “No talks ongoing with AC Milan. Romelu wants to stay in Europe; confirmed this by not joining Saudi now.

“Chelsea position: interested clubs have to present a firm offer. Inter have the ball in their court.”
