Chelsea are on the verge of signing Nicolas Jackson after an agreement was reached with Villarreal.

The 22-year-old is set to move to Stamford Bridge this summer and will become Chelsea‘s second signing after the club completed the £53 million transfer of Christopher Nkunku.

Jackson is keen on the switch and personal terms were already in place while the clubs negotiated the fee for the forward, who has a €35 million release clause.

Talks were ongoing over the structure of the transfer and Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed a full agreement is now in place for the Senegal international.

Chelsea will pay slightly more than the release clause due to Villarreal accepting the Blues’ desire to pay the fee in instalments.

Jackson’s medical is now being scheduled as Chelsea prepare for his arrival, which looks likely that his signing will be confirmed next week.

He scored 12 goals in 26 appearances in La Liga during the 2022/23 season and will join Nkunku and Armando Broja in the attack.

Matteo Moretto of Relevo claims Jackson is already in England and will undergo his medical in the ‘next few hours’ on Friday.
