Chelsea have reached an agreement with AC Milan over the sale of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The 27-year-old is on the verge of ending his time at Chelsea, a club which he has been at since the age of eight, with his contract up next summer at Stamford Bridge.

AC Milan’s long-standing interest has now been finalised with an agreement after a £15 million fee, as reported by Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph, plus add-ons was reached between the clubs this week.

Loftus-Cheek, who made 155 appearances for Chelsea since making his first-team debut in December 2014, will head to the Serie A and reunite with Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud.

As reported by David Ornstein and James Horncastle of The Athletic, Loftus-Cheek is set to sign a four-year contract at the San Siro after agreeing personal terms.

Loftus-Cheek was able to say goodbye to Chelsea fans on the final day of the 2022/23 Premier League season when he was substituted during the second half of their match against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder, who has made 10 appearances for England, spent time out on loan at Fulham and Crystal Palace after returning to action having ruptured his Achilles during a post-season match against New England Revolution back in 2019 following Chelsea’s Europa League final triumph in Baku, Azerbaijan.

AC Milan could return for a second player once they have completed the transfer of Loftus-Cheek. Interest remains in winger Christian Pulisic, with Chelsea wanting around £25 million for the American. However, the Rossoneri are currently reluctant to meet the Blues’ asking price.
