Chelsea will decide upon Andrey Santos’ future in the coming weeks, according to reports.

The 19-year-old signed for Chelsea in January 2023, however is yet to make an appearance for the Blues having been loaned back to his former club Vasco da Gama in March.

Santos has enjoyed a stellar international career at youth level so far, captaining Brazil Under-20s to a South American Championship win, scoring a joint-top six goals throughout the tournament.

And following interest from FC Porto, who are said to be keen on landing the Brazilian on loan, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy once again have a decision to make.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese giants are ‘great admirers’ of the talented midfielder and ‘have asked for him twice’ since January.

Despite this, Chelsea are yet to make a decision on Santos’ immediate future with head coach Mauricio Pochettino said to have the final say on proceedings.

Pochettino arrived at Cobham for pre-season on Monday following his appointment as the new Chelsea boss, after Chelsea’s dismal 12th placed league finish last season.

And with the Blues having seen the departures of Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek already this summer, the 51-year-old may feel void of midfield depth for the upcoming season.

With this being said the Argentine will assess Santos in the coming weeks and make a final decision on who he will play for during the 2023/24 campaign.
