Mauricio Pochettino has arrived at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground to begin life as the club’s new head coach.

The 51-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract at Chelsea, with the option of a further 12 months, has now officially started and was pictured by the club’s in-house media reporting to their training complex.

Pochettino, alongside his backroom team, was welcomed by the cameras and other staff members as the Mercedes vehicle pulled up by the front entrance. He is joined by Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino.

As he enters the fray at Chelsea, Pochettino will start to meet his players from Tuesday as they return in their dribs and drabs from their holidays.

He will quickly get to work before they fly out to the United States later this month for their pre-season tour, which will see them play five matches against Wrexham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund.

Pochettino arrived in good spirits for his first day at work, with his first words “Good morning” as he addressed club staff.

He is now likely to get settled into his new office and surroundings, before being kitted in the latest club attire before carrying out media duties for club channels.
