Chelsea complete summer signing of Everton defender on three-year contract

Chelsea have completed the signing of 17-year-old defender Ishe Samuels-Smith from Everton.
The 17-year-old has made the summer switch to Stamford Bridge from Everton after a £4 million fee was agreed between the sides. He has penned a three-year contract at Chelsea until June 2026.
Samuels-Smith was highly-rated at Everton and was an unused substitute during their 4-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup third round last November. He also made the first-team match squad against Fulham in April.
Speaking to the official Chelsea website after finalising his transfer, the defender said: “It was a shock to me because it all happened quickly, but I’m really glad to be here.
“It’s going to be a good experience coming into such a big club. It will be a new challenge because there are top players here, so I am going to have to adapt quickly and get through the levels.”
Chelsea have already completed the signings of Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Alex Matos and Diego Moreira this summer.
