Chelsea’s plans are coming into fruition both on and off the pitch ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Work is being done to refine the squad which Mauricio Pochettino will oversee from July 1 after his head coach appointment.

A lot of outgoings are lined up – Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech are on the verge of departures, while others, including Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta, are strongly linked with moves away.

However, since the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership took over, they have been making small additions to Stamford Bridge. LED boards and a new Chelsea badge sign on the exterior of the ground were installed during last season.

Another new addition has now been pictured, with Chelsea installing a new Chelsea Football Club sign on the top of the East Stand with the club’s credit to the side of it.

One Twitter user wrote: “Credit where due, that looks (perfect emoji)”. Another said: Lovely shot depicting the Old and the New”.

“Beautiful” was the response from another fan, with the next response “Big fan of this looks lovely”.

Chelsea will return to Stamford Bridge on August 13 when they host Liverpool in their opening game of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
