Chelsea have learned the dates for the Summer and Winter transfer windows after confirmation from the Premier League.

Incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino and the Chelsea hierarchy are planning for a busy summer as they eye a squad overhaul in a bid to avoid a repeat next term of the disastrous 2022/23 campaign.

Many players are set to leave the club, with in excess of 10 outgoings desired, while contract negotiations and new signings – a goalkeeper, a midfielder and a striker are wanted – also need finalising.

Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are all set to be allowed to leave this summer.

Ahead of the frantic summer, which has seen Chelsea already spend in excess of £600 million in the previous two windows, the Premier League has now confirmed the dates for the summer and winter transfer windows.

A statement read: “The Premier League has today confirmed the dates for the Summer 2023 and Winter 2024 transfer windows.

“The Summer window will open on Wednesday 14 June and will close at 23:00 BST on Friday 1 September.

“Meanwhile, the Winter window will open on Monday 1 January 2024 and will close at 23:00 GMT on Thursday 1 February 2024.

“To ensure harmonisation with the major leagues in Europe, the closing dates were set following discussions with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, LaLiga, and LFP, who will all close their Summer and Winter windows on 1 September and 1 February respectively.”
