Chelsea suffer another injury blow as Lampard rules seven out of Man City clash

Frank Lampard has been handed another injury blow after confirming the Chelsea team news to face Manchester City in the Premier League.
Chelsea head to the Etihad on Sunday to play Pep Guardiola’s side who are on the verge of clinching another Premier League title.
Lampard has no issue with giving the hosts a guard of honour should their fate be sealed pre-match – Arsenal losing to Nottingham Forest would confirm Man City‘s title triumph – but expects a tough match regardless.
The 44-year-old said: “Who knows how the game pans out. But at the same time, when you see them churning out these wins and performances, you have to expect the best version of Man City.”
Chelsea have had injury problems throughout the season and more issues have cropped up heading into the final three games of the campaign.
Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella, Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante all remain sidelined, as does Kalidou Koulibaly, however there was a positive update regarding the Senegal international.
On team news, Lampard added: “We are pretty much similar to where we have been recently. Mason, Reece, Chilly, N’Golo, Marc Cucurella not fit.
“Kouli has been training with us this week, but not really ready for a game like this. He’s ahead of schedule to be fair.”
But Chelsea were handed another issue in defence after Lampard confirmed Benoit Badiashile has suffered a groin injury in training this week and will not be available for selection on Sunday.
“Benoit has injured himself in training two days ago, his groin, so will miss the game. We are assessing that as we speak.”
