Chelsea sweat on Hakim Ziyech departure after double ‘red flag’ emerges from Al-Nassr medical

Hakim Ziyech’s move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr is in doubt after issues emerged from his medical.

The 30-year-old looked set on an £8 million departure to Saudi Arabia after agreeing a three-year deal.

Ziyech, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2020, was close to leaving in January to join Paris-Saint Germain on loan, however an administration error caused the deal to collapse on the deadline.

The chance has now come to offload the Morocco international again as part of the planned summer clear-out, which has already seen Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante complete their moves to Saudi Arabia.

A medical was planned for Ziyech this week to finalise his switch to Al-Nassr, however worrying details have now emerged which has put a transfer in potential doubt.

As reported by Ben Jacobs, Al-Nassr will carry out further tests on Friday after red flags emerged on Ziyech’s medical on Thursday regarding both his knee and hip.

No final decision has been made yet as to whether Al-Nassr will pull out of the transfer.

Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna confirmed Al-Nassr has doubts about signing Ziyech, with the knee problem identified the same one which emerged during his PSG medical.
