Chelsea face AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup second round and the team news is in from Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are looking to book their spot in the third round on Wednesday night in west London when they host AFC Wimbledon.

The 51-year-old Chelsea head coach isn’t fazed by it being a cup competition as he eyes glory and silverware during his first season in charge of the Blues.

“All of the competitions are important for Chelsea,” Pochettino said pre-match. “The circumstances aren’t the best at the moment because we have many injuries. We need to deal after with a Saturday game against Nottingham Forest.

“We are going to try the best team to be sure we are going to perform in the way that want because we have some players that they need to avoid risk and give some rest. That is why I was saying we were so focused on assessing and analysing the players to make a decision for tomorrow to be competitive.”

The Carabao Cup tie will get underway at 7.45pm BST in the capital.
