Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and the team news is in from Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side can now focus on the football after the summer transfer window closed on Friday night, which saw Cole Palmer become the final incoming in a busy couple of months for Chelsea as they overhauled the squad.

They come up against Steve Cooper’s Reds, who have just lost Brennan Johnson but also acquired Andrey Santos on loan and Callum Hudson-Odoi on a permanent basis from Chelsea.

It’s been a busy time for Pochettino and his staff as they continue to settle in following their July arrivals, but the Argentine is pleased with the progress he is seeing from Chelsea.

“Because of the circumstances we have, we are happy,” said Pochettino. “Even if we don’t progress at the speed we want. To progress we need all of the players fit to evolve in the way we play and to have the capacity to train with the whole team and to create an environment they can compete and improve.

“It is true we are now more focused on competing and trying to get positive results. That will help us for the players to arrive into the team to be in a different mood. Now is the process we need to compete, not the best circumstances, but I’m not going to complain.”

Chelsea are aiming to extend their winning run to three games in all competitions with all three points on Saturday afternoon.

The Premier League clash will get underway at 3pm BST in the capital.
